Professional statement

Therapy can be a compassionate space for insight, personal development, and healing. Each one of us has our own unique history and growth process. My goal is to support your overall mental, emotional, and relational health. I work with a wide range of life experiences including anxiety, self-harming, depression, trauma, and grief. I also specialize in the following experiences: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD); trauma and PTSD including dissociation, disembodiment, panic, and fear; and unhealthy relationship patterns and coping mechanisms. Together, we work on moving forward to meet your personal needs and therapeutic goals.

Here are some of the tools I use to help: Somatic Therapy provides different ways to process feelings in our bodies. Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy cultivates a heightened awareness of thoughts and feelings, allowing us to identify and engage with them. Behavioral Therapy helps reshape unhealthy behavior patterns connected to thoughts and feelings.

I believe that the client-therapist alliance is the most important aspect of therapy. It is vital that you feel safe, seen, and supported. Our sessions together focus on your goals and needs, in an environment centered in compassion, non-judgment, and deep listening.

My sessions are all online currently so that I can serve the rural and urban communities of Oregon. While I am not paneled with any insurance at this time, I do offer a sliding payment scale. Please contact me with any questions or if you need a reduced fee to access care. I endeavor not to make cost a barrier to access, and am flexible with my fee. I look forward to meeting with you.

Message to clients

I believe at the core of our collective human experience is a shared longing for safety, happiness, and loving-connection. Life's intricate tapestry, woven by environments, families, communities, social structures, and our internal sense of self, may not always provide a meaningful connection to these fundamental needs. Many of us carry the weight of trauma resulting from a profound lack of these essential elements. In the face of life's suffering there emerges a critical need to learn the skills of cultivating safety, happiness, and loving-connection from within ourselves.

I also believe that all individuals possess the ability to heal themselves. That became my life's path; learning to connect with my own natural healing systems and healing through them. That belief, and my Masters' degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Social Sciences in Environment and Community, have led me to create Oregon Compassion Therapy. My core passion is helping people grow, develop, and heal.

These beliefs arise from my own life's experiences, healing journey, and years of extensive and immersive training as a meditation teacher, relational and community facilitator, conflict mediator, peer-supporter, and the director of non-profit providing teen leadership education through wilderness adventure programs.

You are not alone. I'm here to help.
