What services do you offer?

A Good Place Therapy offers support for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, grief and loss, career challenges, depression, bipolar disorder, anger management, relationship challenges, trauma recovery, eating disorders and body image challenges, building self-esteem, and perinatal mental health.

In addition, the practice offers couples therapy, including premarital counseling. Clinicians also have extensive experience working with members of the LGBTQIA community.

The team's primary method of treatment is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based method that aims to help individuals reframe their thoughts and develop healthier coping strategies. In addition, the team incorporates mindfulness and other therapeutic models depending on the client's needs and goals. When working with couples, clinicians most often utilize The Gottman Method, which is a science-backed method that helps improve communication, increase intimacy, and create a better sense of understanding within the relationship.

Therapist's note

A Good Place Therapy providers are out-of-network for all insurance carriers except Lyra Health; some providers are also in-network with NYU student health insurance (CHP).

Prospective clients also have the option of seeing one of the many excellent LMSWs who take NYU CHP insurance; they also offer fees starting at $100/session if clients meet income eligibility.

Clinicians will file out-of-network benefits directly on behalf of clients, so that clients only need to pay the deductible or the copay up front. Many people have excellent OON benefits and after their deductibles are met, they pay only 20-50% of the fee. A Good Place also commonly reduces what clients pay until they reach their deductible.
