Professional statement

Clint Zakavos is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Chicago’s Loop who works with clients from diverse backgrounds, supporting them with overcoming issues related to PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, relationship difficulties, and addiction. He also has extensive experience working with clients with a history of trauma, including child abuse and/or sexual assault. He enjoys working with both individuals and couples and has experience working with adults across the lifespan.

Clint takes an integrative approach to therapy and tailors therapy to fit the needs of the client. He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for trauma treatment and is Gottman level-three certified for couples work. His practice is rooted in a person-centered, humanistic approach with a focus on building a strong therapist-client relationship. When working with couples, Clint reminds them that they have the power to create change, and he is there to support them.

Clint believes that everyone deserves to heal and build the life they want. He formerly worked at a community mental health center for a decade and received his MA from Argosy University. Outside of private practice, he does group therapy once a month at Gilda’s Club where he works with individuals with cancer or who lost a loved one to cancer.

Whether the day to day grind is wearing you down or overwhelming anxiety is making it difficult for you to leave the house, I am here to be on your side. I am a big believer that effective therapy is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist and that healing is achieved by working together.
I believe any trauma is deserving of my attention and care. I strive to provide an environment where you feel free to open up and feel safe. Call today for a free consultation.
