The psychotherapy I practice is both insight-oriented and supportive. My training is psychodynamic and interpersonal.
I am passionately committed to a therapy which helps folks make sense of their thoughts, feelings, and behavior and of the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of others.
I see myself as curious, compassionate, and non-judgmental. Style-wise, I would say that I listen closely. I strive to ask questions respectfully. I take a fairly active role in encouraging clients to reflect on present day interpersonal interactions. I see the ability to understand oneself from the outside and others from the inside as central to the development of emotional intelligence and of constructive, intimate relationships.
No estoy en condiciones de hacer el trabajo completamente en español, pero me gustaría que supieran que tengo un enfoque abierto y un interés sincero en la gente bicultural.
My clients generally come to me seeking help with eating and body image issues, anxiety, feelings of depression, or some other life challenge. Working together, we use a combination of psychotherapeutic approaches to understand causes and contributors and plot a course of action. The process of therapy of therapy typically involves helping clients get in better touch with their feelings and values. Over the course of our work together you can expect to move from a problem solving mode to one of deepening self knowledge and expanding potential. Most clients find psychotherapy a rewarding, and often exciting journey.
I understand that entering into therapy can be very challenging so finding the right therapist is essential in making this process a success.

I view therapy as a collaborative process. Much like an editor for a writer, a coach for an athlete, or a director for an actor, I respect that you bring your knowledge of yourself and I bring knowledge from years of listening and assisting others. I aim to create a private and safe place to sort through dilemmas, struggles, challenging feelings and experiences.
Do you have a therapist already but have been thinking about trying medications for ADHD, depression, anxiety, or panic disorder? I am a psychiatric NP who is board certified to treat patients from ages 5 y/o and up for all types of psychiatric conditions. I can help you find medications that work, and provide talk/supportive therapy as well.
While experience, knowledge and judgment are essential to effective therapy, the key ingredient to success is a positive personal connection.
As a therapist with 30 years experience in private practice and hospital settings, I have a long track record of developing trusting relationships with a wide range of clients and helping them to achieve the type of positive change they seek.
I value the importance of creating a safe space so we can cultivate a supportive therapeutic relationship. I value the unique relationship between each client as we all need different levels of support and challenging based on what is happening in our lives. I pay close attention to balance those two types of helping based on what clients need. I work to let you recognize the healing that can take place within yourself and work to serve as a mirror to shine lights on the various facets of what makes you who you are.
Thanks for exploring my Zencare page to see if I may be the right fit to support you on your journey toward improving relationships, expanding your toolbox of healthy coping skills, making meaning of these challenging times in our world (e.g., COVID, racism, social injustice), and feeling better in your daily life!
Since I am actively licensed to support clients living in Rhode Island, I am unable to serve those living in Connecticut/Massachusetts/other states. As I am not a Trauma Specialist, I encourage individuals seeking trauma-focused support to reach out to an EMDR certified Zencare Trauma Specialist.
Potential clients often reach out when they tried therapy before, yet found the match was not the right fit (e.g., being charged when you need to cancel for something important in your life, hearing "uh-huh" without gaining insight/coping skills). I believe flexibility, cultural awareness/competency, and connection is essential for healing! -Dr. Chantelle
I think it's really imperative that people have their safe space to be able to come in and talk about whatever it may be that you might be dealing with. Oftentimes, there is something going on that maybe you feel like you can't talk to your friends about or you can't talk to your family. So this is your safe space to be able to come in and talk about whatever it may that you feel like you need to get off of your chest or that you just really need to talk out.
