Beginning therapy is a brave and beautiful step. My goal as a therapist is to help my patients utilize their existing internal strengths to navigate difficulties in their lives in ways that promote self-compassion, acceptance, and positive change. My clients have diverse lived experiences and backgrounds. As such, I approach my practice with an intersectional perspective, understanding there is no “one size fits all” approach for successful therapy. I enjoy working with a diverse group of patients and have particular interests in depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, relationship issues, and low self-esteem. The relationships that are borne from therapy are all unique and valuable. I strive to provide a safe space where my clients can reach the vulnerability necessary to heal from emotional pain and ultimately achieve their best self. I received my BA in Psychology from Macalester College and MSW from Columbia University.
If the thought of starting therapy seems overwhelming, you are not alone.
I aim to support you in creating a balanced life by treating the mind, heart, and body. In our work together we will likely explore thought and behavior patterns, cultivate self-compassion, and practice grounding the body. I am here to listen and provide guidance towards conscious and lasting change. Being present and compassionate are the core values of my practice.
I look forward to learning more about you!

Do you struggle with knowing and expressing your needs, receiving or giving feedback or cleansing yourself from the oppressive labels society is constantly throwing at you? Welcome to the human club. Humans are born with the ability to heal from pain. Over time, we adapt patterns of thinking, behaving and being that serve to protect us temporarily from pain, but that often prevent us from thriving. Often we do not realize the ways we think or communicate don't serve us and therapy can be a helpful place to better understand ourselves, our needs and our behaviors to live more fulfilling lives, aligned with our values.
We are complicated. We are more than diagnoses and more than labels, which are often assigned to us without our consent. Therapy should be an affirming space where all of your identities and emotions are welcome.
I started this practice to give each individual I work with the time, attention, and empathy they deserve. With a trauma informed approach, I work to develop a therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust, respect, and understanding. I know that for many of you this relationship requires an anti-oppression practice that is identity affirming and empowering for whoever you are and whoever you might become and I am committed to that practice. You’ve been yourself your whole life and you probably know what works for you and what doesn’t and I want therapy to be something that works for you. If you are interested in learning more or are ready to make an appointment, then I encourage you to reach out and schedule a free phone consultation.
It is such an enormous relief to find someone to talk to, someone who is really listening, and checking in to ensure you feel heard and understood. I believe that everybody deserves support, and this is my first objective as a therapist. I strive to create a compassionate therapeutic environment that fosters curiosity and self-exploration as a means for growth, and ultimately, self-love.
My job is to hear you and offer you the support you need. My hope is that you will feel free to express whatever is on your mind. From this place of trust, we will eventually work together to learn the roots of your pain and find new pathways forward.
Mind Therapy therapists focus on building a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic space to explore undesired patterns and emotions. We will help you address what is inhibiting your personal freedom and preventing you from living life as your fullest self.
In this work, we will uncover the root causes behind your thoughts and feelings and provide you with concrete, practical tools you can use to combat overwhelming emotions. Things can get better when you work with a therapist. We will help you develop insight into your thinking patterns to eliminate critical thoughts and promote a positive mindset. Our expertise in individual therapy includes but is not limited to: trauma effects (childhood or adulthood), panic attacks, generalized anxiety, depression, family trauma, and self-esteem and relationships.
We practice tele-therapy using simple, secure, HIPAA compliant software. Our therapists provide high-quality therapy services that you can access weekly or as needed from the comfort and security of your home.
Therapy can be a powerful force for good, so long as we never lose sight of the paramountcy of human connection and avoid retreating into narcissism. So many of us desire to feel more connected, less anxious, and less alienated, but we simply do not know how to achieve this reality. This is especially true for some of us who have experienced attachment disruptions, or even more severe forms of trauma. Or, perhaps we see a path forward, but that path vanishes suddenly without warning and is replaced by malaise and renewed uncertainty, or, even worse, despair. Our work together will focus on developing that path in such a way where it will endure even in the face of adversity and the intrusion of the past into the present.
It’s healthy to want to have a career and life that you love. I'll help you find your own personal brand of values to make choices and decisions that will help you accomplish your major life goals. We can look at the experiences in your life that are causing you to feel indecisive and stuck. And together, we will create a realistic plan of action that feels right for you. Looking forward to getting connected!

I know personally the courage it takes, along with research and planning, to take the steps to seek out therapy/counseling/healing. Whatever weight you are carrying on your back, whatever is sitting deep in your heart, or whatever obstacles are blocking your way, in this space, we will explore your inner most self in a deep, profound way, explore all nuances of your feelings to another, and you will receive nonjudgmental acceptance. The human psyche and interpersonal relationships are profoundly complex for any one person to try to navigate alone. But Resilience has brought you this far, and within you, you have what Irvin Yalom calls “an inbuilt propensity toward self-realization.” My hope is to support you through this process in developing a life full of meaning.
What to do? Why therapy?

I help people with difficult, painful life issues. But dealing with your problems is just the beginning. I am committed to emotional growth and development which goes beyond problem solving. It doesn’t matter whether you have an eating disorder or stage fright, or you’re a manic-depressive, obsessive-compulsive or an addict; it doesn’t matter whether, to your dismay, you find yourself married to a ‘stranger,’ or suffering the indignities of the ’boss from hell,’ you can grow.
In a supportive and challenging environment we improvise, create and perform being
both who we are and who we are becoming.
growing emotionally all our lives.
