Group Therapist

Dr. Matthew Mandelbaum is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in Midtown Manhattan. Dr. Mandelbaum’s work focuses on giving clients the tools and skills they need to cope and succeed. He has expertise in anxiety, depression, building self-esteem, personality disorders, and helping individuals who are not meeting career/professional goals. He also enjoys working extensively with emerging adults as they develop their identity and grow personally, socially, and professionally. He understands the excitement and challenges that accompanies living in New York City, and looks forward to helping his clients explore their ambitions and reach their goals.

Dr. Mandelbaum especially enjoys working with highly successful people who are missing a set of skills, like coping with stressful situations or effectively dealing with people. He has a deep understanding of how to use DBT to help clients with a wide range of issues and implements mindfulness practices when appropriate. He teaches them to how make good decisions in the moment and how to step back and look at the big picture. His sessions are goal-oriented and focus on a specific challenge.

Dr. Mandelbaum’s goal is to give his clients a set of tools that they can use to effectively live the life they want. His office is conveniently located near Penn Station, across from the Empire State Building.
