This is a sympathetic and caring group that feels like a tight hug.
When you experience a loss, it can be difficult to know where to turn. Octave’s grief and bereavement group will provide a supportive environment for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Surrounded by those who are facing a similar range of emotions, group members will receive and offer emotional support, while gaining an understanding of the stages of grief. Furthermore we will explore the impact of rituals and discuss different ways of memorializing loved ones.
Sessions are 60 minutes and held weekly, for 8 weeks. This group requires a complimentary consult call prior to enrollment.
Group Therapist
Anna Zelig is a licensed clinical social worker who is licensed in New York, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia. The majority of her clients are individuals, couples, and families working through relationship challenges or family conflict.
Anna deeply believes that happiness is defined by social support. She is passionate about helping clients navigate how to get enjoyment, satisfaction, and enrichment from their relationships. Anna’s work often involves rebuilding a connection after a rupture and includes working with clients through trauma, loss, divorce, or a medical illness. She also sees clients with anxiety and depression.
Anna has nine years of experience working in a hospital, helping children and families navigate the psychosocial impacts of illness. Anna graduated with her master’s in social work from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University and completed an extensive post-graduate training program at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.
