The activity of the group is building the group. That activity is the therapy. It addresses what many of us suffer from, mainly the inability to build emotionally intimate relationships.
These groups are improvisational and performatory. We do serious emotional work, and we have fun.

Joan Ingalls is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Greenwich Village, NYC. New York. The majority of her clients are young professionals who are navigating struggling with work challenges and/or navigating life transitions, like living in New York City, living on their own for the first time, managing their own finances for the first time, having their first job, or being in their first serious relationship. She also specializes in performance and sports counseling and has extensive experience in facilitating creative and group work.
Joan is primarily a group therapist, and often the clients who come to her for individual therapy eventually transition into one of her therapeutic groups. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and improvisational, and she works with clients to create a collaborative relationship focused on growth and a better understanding of their interconnected issues. With over three decades of experience, Joan is passionate about the work she does, and she loves helping clients grow emotionally and love the life they have. In addition to being an LMHC, Joan holds a doctorate in sports and performance counseling.
