Recent studies show that, more and more, young people identify anxiety and depression as significant challenges in their lives. The social world for teenage girls has become more stressful and challenging. The rise in peer pressure, conflicts, and unhealthy social media messages go hand in hand with a rise in anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem in teens.
This group will offer a safe space for teenage girls to share experiences that may be challenging and difficult. Additionally, in this group, members will learn a combination of CBT/DBT strategies to help develop the skills to manage relationships with peers and other important people in their lives, and to make healthy and wise choices.
Through an educational and experiential approach, this group will help teens experiencing anxiety and depression learn skills to develop friendships and maintain healthy relationships making wise decisions using new tools.
This group is designed to help members increase their self-esteem by improving decision-making and problem-solving skills, and sharing and learning new ways to cope with stressful situations.
Tuesdays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm beginning September 17, 2019
*Please note: Participants must be followed by an individual clinician.
