Dr. Raymond Zakhari is a triple-board certified (Psychiatric Mental Health, Adult-Adolescent Health, Family Health) nurse practitioner, trained in sex therapy. He makes medical and psychiatric house calls in Manhattan, New York. He specializes in a wide-range of areas, including addiction, sex therapy, medication management, men’s health, and the specific challenges that older adults may face, like dementia.
Since Dr. Zakhari only makes house calls, he is able to spend time getting to know his patients inside and out in the comfort of their own home. He believes it is important to have a primary care provider who can address both your physical and mental health needs. When working with individuals with addictions, he utilizes a combination of medication and various therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). He helps his patients develop healthier coping mechanisms and find additional resources to help them on their road to recovery.
Dr. Zakhari truly cares about every one of his patients and wants to make sure that all of their health needs are being taken care of. He is currently appointed to the Department of Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Payne Whitney Manhattan/Weill-Cornell. He earned his doctorate of nursing practice from Chatham University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
