Professional statement

Dr. Sharon Batista is a Psychiatrist whose practice is located in Manhattan's Upper East Side neighborhood, and open to clients across the state of New York via teletherapy (also accepting patients for teletherapy in NY, NJ, CA, FL, IL, OH, PA,& VA).

She specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress. Dr. Batista also welcomes individuals who are overcoming eating disorders and OCD, and additionally, is board-certified in treatment for addiction.

Dr. Batista values the therapeutic relationship and prioritizes remaining up-to-date in the best, most suitable practices for evidence-based treatments such as psychopharmacology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

While Dr. Batista is licensed to prescribe medications, she understands that every client has individual needs and preferences. She is able to provide both medication management and talk therapy, and she is also open to helping clients explore their alternative treatment options. Additionally, Dr. Batista offers psychiatric consultation for new clients.

Message to clients

I believe in a personalized approach to each person’s concerns. If you are grappling with a medical illness, a difficult life transition, or a particular disorder that's interfering with your daily life, please don't hesitate to reach out. I strive to provide the best, evidence-based, modern treatment to suit your needs, and will work with you to get you to a point where you feel stronger and more empowered.

In addition to sessions in the office, your treatment will include access by phone and email (and at times video conferencing or text messaging, when necessary) to touch base regularly and keep you on track with your plan and treatment. In contrast to traditional practices, I very much encourage communication when outside the office.

I look forward to hearing from you!
