Professional statement

Albert Pignataro is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in San Jose, CA. Albert specializes helping his clients address inner pain and trauma, and find their own empowered freedom. Albert supports the LGBTQ+ community, helping community members heal from traumas related to the lived queer experience, and tap into one's inner strength and wisdom, to enable clients to show up in the world in an authentic and unapologetic way. Albert is passionate about helping men work through what it means to be masculine in our current society and develop strategies for coping with feelings of discomfort or nonconformity.

In sessions with Albert, clients define what their innate strengths are and draw from those strengths to work through the issues at hand. Albert teaches clients how to cope with stressors while diving deeper into their identities and what makes them unique. By asking many thought-provoking questions and developing strong rapport with clients, Albert helps clients learn more about themselves and what works for them - as well as what doesn’t work.

Albert earned his Master’s degree from John F Kennedy University. His approach is direct while also maintaining an easy-going, funny personality. With many years of experience working in a non-therapeutic field, Albert has experience in many different life situations that may arise with his clients - which gives him additional insight into how to best support clients’ work.

Message to clients

We are, in part, the product of our history. The lessons and messages we learned from our history influence our choices and actions today. Sometimes, when we are burdened with so much pain, we may think, feel and do things that hurt us and those around us.

However, every day we have a new opportunity to change our choices and actions so that we can make our lives better, healthier, and more satisfying, which frankly I think is pretty awesome! We often forget this wisdom; we forget that we have this power to change, to choose again. We forget we deserve to be empowered and free!

We only get a finite time to live, love, and enjoy our life. It’s up to each of us to do what we can, and get the help we need when we struggle, to work toward our most authentic self, and strive for the cherished sense of empowered freedom we deserve. This is where my passion for this work resides, and I deeply desire to share this with you.
