Alexandra Cox is a Mental Health Therapist in Moon Township. She works with individuals, couples, and teens. Many of Allie’s clients come in to address trauma, communication difficulties, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Allie is particularly passionate about serving individuals and couples who are wanting to feel like themselves again. She also has advanced training in the area of trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Allie is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic approach, and solution focused techniques. Allie uses these techniques to help treat individuals and couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, and communication difficulties. Allie will work with you to target and understand what your triggers are; and then work to ground you and help you feel better over time. In session, Allie focuses on how the client feels, breathing exercises, visualizations, and grounding tools. This approach helps clients feel more grounded, secure in themselves, and gain the confidence needed to go through life.
Allie's style is empathetic, engaging, and calming. When clients first start therapy, she will work to understand the client's history, what their goals are, who is encouraging them, and what they would like to gain out of the sessions.
Allie received their MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania. She has worked at My Life Counseling during her clinical experience and Tadiso Inc as her first employment experience outside of college. Outside of private practice, she loves spending time with her family, going on walks/hikes with her husband and her dog (Koda), baking, and watching movies. She is currently offering remote sessions at this time
