Professional statement

Andrew Katsinas is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Southern California, and currently seeing California residents virtually via telehealth. Many of his clients come to session to explore topics of gender, sexuality, and intimacy, including the relationship between trauma and identity. He has a special knack for those navigating existential questions, and serves as a safe sounding board as clients seek out meaning, connected relationships to themselves and others, and a sense of greater purpose.

Andrew places great importance on the relationship between client and therapist, and brings his authentic self to session to help establish trust and a desire to grow. He works with both individual adults and couples, and his practice is open and knowledgeable for folks who practice kink or non-monogamy, as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. As an AASECT Sex Therapist Certification Candidate, he is uniquely qualified to support those with concerns around sexual function and fulfillment.

With a background in film and media, Andrew has a deep appreciation for the creative process and how creative expression can play a role in healing. He aims to meet his clients where they are, holding space for exploration of self, empowerment, and reclamation of their joy for life. While finding a therapist can be challenging and the work of therapy itself is at times comfortable, Andrew actively works with each new client to feel supported and safe during their journey to wellness.

Message to clients

I believe that therapy should always be a safe environment, but "comfort" may need to be challenged in order for desired, transformative change to occur. My clients tend to come at a weekly session frequency for maintenance of a steady "flow" to our work.

My hope for any potential client is that they find the therapist that sufficiently aligns with their needs. If we find that after a couple sessions that our dynamic is not quite working, I will help you find a therapist that is a better fit.

Please feel free to contact me for a free, 15 minute phone consultation to determine whether we are a good therapeutic match. I look forward to hearing from you!
