Professional statement

Bryan Ritchie is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate under the supervision of Cassie Reid, Ph. D, LPC-S. He enjoys time near a lake or beach anyway he can, whether it be on a boat, kayak, or just sitting on a beach somewhere. A long walk or bike ride is incorporated into most days for his own sanity.

He loves working with families, especially those who have adopted or are in foster care. After adopting four children, Bryan's wife and he always wished there were therapists available to help them navigate some of the tricky waters involved with adoptive families. There were times where they felt overwhelmed and convinced they had made a huge mistake, but they wouldn’t trade it for the world. Their children are thriving despite their difficult beginnings. They have been there and would love to walk with your family through some of the tough spots of adoption.

He also enjoys seeing anxious people experience peace and calm in their life. During his life, anxiety has been present, and it constantly attempts to direct his thoughts towards chaos and worry. Over the years and through his own therapy, Bryan has found a better way of approaching his own anxiety. Seeing his clients overcome anxiety is rewarding.

Bryan has degrees from the University of North Texas (Bachelor of Arts), Dallas Theological Seminary (Master of Arts in Biblical Studies), and The King’s University (Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy).

Bryan is EMDR trained and Gottman Level I certified.

Message to clients

Our world is filled with options. Too many options. Often, we find ourselves overwhelmed, anxious, and unable to cope with everything. I get it. I’ve been there. Our minds can’t handle all the obligations and information thrown at us every day. I can help you untangle the mess and find strength and peace in your life. I’ve seen clients move from stuck to a whole new way of viewing life and all it throws at them

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. For many clients, talking about their trauma can create more trauma. EMDR allows real change without having to retell the story over and over again. Bryan has seen many clients use EMDR to retrain themselves to see traumatic events in a whole new way.

I look forward to meeting with you and walking beside you into a new future.
