She/her/they/themLicensed Professional Counselor, LPC Master of Arts, MA
Cathy Zimmerman works individually with range of young adults to seniors. They often come with feeling stuck around working with strong emotions, be it fear, grief, loneliness and anger as well as anxiety and depression. Relationship issues are at the forefront of her practice. Although she has a 45 year history of mindfulness practice and the study of Buddhism, she welcomes issues around spirituality of all traditions. She is trained in trauma and has done extensive dreamwork training as well. Her private practice also includes work with chronic illness.
As a contemplative psychotherapist, her work is present-centered and somatically based. She trusts that we all have what we need for transformation to happen and that all emotions come with a natural intelligence. If we bring a kind presence to them, they, themselves are a source of healing. So much is possible with the simple presence of another who can listen deeply without judgement. This is Cathy's way of working.
She currently has an office at 4410 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder Colorado. However, until it is safe (from Covid 19) for both her clients and herself, she is using a secure telehealth platform for video sessions.
