Chelsea Newton (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Sexuality Educator located in Golden, Colorado. She specializes in sex therapy and trauma, working with adults of all ages on a wide variety of sexuality and mental health issues. Many of Chelsea’s clients show up to session to address trauma, relationship issues, identity development, and everyday stress. Chelsea is particularly passionate about serving individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ or are exploring their sexual identity. She has advanced training in human sexuality, holding a Master of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies.
Chelsea is trained in sex therapy, narrative therapy, and client centered therapy. She works alongside clients, at their pace, to increase feelings of safety. In session, Chelsea focuses on identifying and building upon current skills, introducing new skills, and understanding her client’s unique needs. This approach supports clients to experience healing, clarity, mental well-being, and space.
Chelsea's style is authentic, non-judgmental, and supportive. When clients first start therapy they will begin to build trust with Chelsea, and come to know session as a safe space to explore their inner landscape. Chelsea wants her clients to feel empowered to show up as their most authentic selves, no masks required, even when that can feel challenging or scary.
Outside of work, Chelsea loves to explore the Colorado landscape with her partner of 11 years. Connection to nature and the cycles of the moon are important to Chelsea. She founded Phases of the Mind Therapy in 2020 and provides online therapy sessions to clients across Colorado.
