Professional statement

Cindy Cisneros is an Artist, Creativity Counselor, and Creativity Coach in Maryland. Her clients are highly creative but don't fully see it in themselves. Cindy’s clients have successful careers, powerful feelings, and “creative hobbies,” but don’t see the big picture that Cindy sees: that these things are all connected.

Cindy knows that a highly Creative Person was born to a personality with the power to accomplish their dreams. She sees that her clients, while successful in life, have marginalized the most important parts of themselves when they have neglected their creativity and suppressed or stigmatized their powerful feelings. They have lost the meaningfulness in their lives that comes with expressing themselves.

With Creativity Coaching and Creativity Counseling, Cindy has developed a powerful healing philosophy to empower Creative People. By helping her clients understand their Creative Personalities, develop regular creative practices, and understand the connection between their mental health and creativity, Cindy helps her clients restore meaningfulness and purpose to their lives.

Creativity Counseling is available online in Maryland and Virginia, and Creativity Coaching is available online Nationwide. Cindy offers premium services to clients dedicating care to only a select number at once to maximize impact. Cindy believes in creating lasting, meaningful change in counseling and coaching. Cindy strongly believes in equality, diversity, and inclusion and holds a safe space for all genders, cultures, religions, races, and orientations.

Message to clients

I care about your story because I have my own...

I grew up with many rules and expectations that smothered my authenticity and left me feeling profoundly unhappy. Blind to my own creative personality, I sought support from the mental health system, which ultimately also failed me. I was never seen as the creative person I was!

Later, in Graduate School, I wrote a thesis on the relationship between mental health and creativity. I was awakened through research to commonalities creative personalities shared: their strength, power, need to make meaning and live authentically. I also found the more creative people were, the more they needed to create to be well. These became foundational to my work!

I created a philosophy for myself that I now share with other creative people, to help them change their lives. I live as an example of reclaiming your creative identity and power, and making your dreams come true! I am so passionate about helping others- you don’t need to struggle the way I did- you can benefit from my experience and learning. I am here to help you change your life!

Specialties

Artists' mental health - Powerful feelings are part of the Creative Person's natural experience. Too often, Creative People are told to suppress or control these important assets to their creativity. This is not a lasting solution for your mental health. You can learn to work with, not against, the powerful emotions that are a vital part of how you experience the world!

Life purpose & meaning - Overwhelm and emptiness are some of the most common feelings misdiagnosed in Creative People- you may have tried to understand them yourself under traditional definitions of depression and anxiety. You are experiencing a lack of meaningfulness and purposefulness in your life. Meaningfulness and purposefulness are vital to your happiness and success and through Creativity Counseling, they can be nourished and restored.

Creative blocks & writer's block - Its a blinking cursor again. Another blank canvas. You have a story in your heart, but no words in your mind. Perfectionism, procrastination, and self-doubt are common causes of creative blocks. With Creativity Counseling and Creativity Coaching you can build self-awareness and skills to accomplish goals and fuel creativity.

Performance anxiety - The anticipation! Your body knows you are about to do something major, even before your brain does, and begins to ramp up, without your permission, every time. Underperforming, due to anxiety, strong inner critic, analysis paralysis, high expectations, and perfectionism is common to Creative Performers. Skills in Creativity Counseling and Creativity Coaching can help you retrain your body and mind to perform with ease.

Depression - Stop being so dramatic. Pull yourself together. Just stop being so sad. What if the best thing you could do for your sadness is to allow it? Creative People feel things deeply, and your powerful feelings are an important part of how you experience the world. Using tools like mindfulness, Creativity Counseling can support and promote healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life.

Life transitions - I dare you to live out your creative fantasy. You have experienced success in your life and you don't want to rock the boat. After all, you really should feel grateful for what you have. But, something is missing. You feel an emptiness. Creative People have the bravery to face the challenges of doing more: coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child-rearing, or career changes; learning self-care & better managing stress.
