Professional statement

Elle Trapkin, LCSW, trained as a therapist in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings before moving into private practice. She combines her early hospital training with a more holistic and intuitive approach to therapy. She enjoys working with clients one on one where she can focus, not only on the problems in someone's life, but also what is working. This way, the therapy session is not just about dealing with issues, but also about seeing what might be possible for someone.

In addition to working with adults and teens with anxiety and depression, she has had great success working with couples, whether they are in crisis or simply want to work on creating better communication and satisfaction in their relationship. Another speciality area of Ms Trapkin is resolving trauma, whether it be childhood or adult events. Trauma is often so buried that traditional talk therapy cannot unearth it. She has discovered ways of bypassing the conscious mind and going right to the unconscious self. Clients are often unaware of trauma that may play a part in their anxiety or depression.

In addition to being a therapist, Ms Trapkin is an actor and a dancer. She teaches and practices yoga and pilates. Her office is located at 321 W Hill Street, Suite 16, Decatur, GA 30030. She is available for in person or remote sessions.

Message to clients

I love having time to really listen to you and guide you to a more fulfilling and happy life. I know what it is like to sit in the client chair, and I am so grateful for all my past coaches and mentors. I know that having someone to just "get you" without judgement is often the greatest healing experience. I have developed a highly intuitive approach to therapy which allows me to work quickly with clients. My dance and acting background bring a creative sensibility to my work. I believe in the healing power of forgiveness.
