Professional statement

Erika has a gentle, reflective approach to therapy, which allows clients to come as they are and be fully themselves. Whether someone is struggling with identity, anxiety, low self esteem, or feelings of depression, Erika provides a strong, trusting container for them to dig into the root cause of their struggles and find new ways to cope. She might even include some humor along the way!

Depending on her client’s needs, Erika uses a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, psychodynamic theory, and mindfulness. Erika encourages her clients to use their creativity to express themselves and process difficult feelings. For example, she might have her clients respond to a journal prompt or sketch out a scene.

All in all, Erika creates a safe and trusting relationship where clients can express themselves, move through intense emotions, and focus on their personal growth.

Message to clients

My practice is a nurturing space to unpack your feelings, attitudes, and stressors. As you embark on your journey of self discovery, we will explore your identity, understand intergenerational patterns, and deconstruct mental health stigma together.

I welcome folks who hold the following identities, BIPOC/LGBTQ+ adults, adult children of immigrant parents, and migrants. I also work with clients to improve self esteem or address symptoms of ADHD. Through a holistic, collaborative, and nonhierarchical approach, we’ll address the challenges in your life together so that you can heal and gain new insights.

Finding the right therapist can be challenging. I encourage you to begin your work with someone who understands you and is curious to learn more about what’s important to you. If working together seems like a potential fit, please reach out. I’m looking forward to connecting!
