Eva Stark

Eva Stark is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Englewood, NJ, who specializes in anxiety, depression, relationships, parenting support, couples counseling, as well as working with women in times of transition. She also has extensive experience helping women who are in their 20’s and 30’s, who are struggling to find a partner,  others who find themselves in unsatisfying relationships, as well as women in their 40’s and 50’s who are going through a divorce, or mid-life difficulties.

Eva’s approach is psychodynamic, relational, and eclectic.  Appreciating that no two people are the same, she spends time exploring each client’s goals and wishes in order to understand each person’s struggles. She helps clients better understand how we carry old wounds of hurt, loss and trauma into the present, and how these wounds affect the way we manage our lives and relationships. Life stress, marriage, divorce, parenting, work, illness, loss, as well as the challenges of the lifecycle itself- young adulthood, midlife, can stir up old unprocessed turmoil. Eva strives to attentively, compassionately, and actively engage with her clients, so that they might free themselves of old wounds, and live more loving and whole lives.

Eva offers a safe and nonjudgemental space when working with her clients. She has advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Washington Square Institute for Mental Health in New York City,  and is a licensed psychoanalyst in New York. She looks forward to meeting you.
