Message to clients

I want to first congratulate you on making this decision! I truly believe that it takes something to begin one's therapeutic process which includes the awareness of the challenges that you are facing, the desire to deal with your difficulties, and to ask for guidance and support so you can overcome these problems. It takes courage to do this, so I acknowledge you for taking these steps! I would suggest that you make your sessions and your own therapeutic process a priority in your life. One way to begin doing this, is by keeping your appointments sacred. Make your scheduled appointments something that you keep consistent and important. Bring what matters to you into your sessions, so we can work together on these things together. It can also be helpful to engage in therapeutic assignments in-between your sessions. I recommend that you use a journal or notebook, so you will have one place to do this "work" and can bring those assignments into your sessions. Essentially, what you put into your therapeutic process and your sessions, is what you will get out of them. I also encourage you to be patient with yourself and the process. Change doesn't happen all at once and progress is not linear. Your work is to keep showing-up and to do your best. I promise you if you do this, you will begin to see big changes within yourself and your life.
