Jill Maher specializes in working with young adults (18-25) and adults (25+), primarily women who have experienced trauma. She also provides support for people who are looking for ways to bring wellness into their lives in order build a healthy and fulfilling balance.

Jill offers a strength-based, empathic, and collaborative approach when working with clients. This includes providing EMDR Therapy as well as utilizing other trauma informed approaches, such as DBT and Trauma Focused-CBT. These tools can help clients cope with depression, anxiety, stress, life challenges, and changes.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in San Diego, she has been working with individuals and families impacted by trauma for 15 years. Her focus and interest in trauma work began when she was a counselor at a domestic violence/sexual assault crisis agency in Sacramento in 2005. She has an extensive background in trauma and mental health in a multitude of roles, including as an advocate, therapist, clinical supervisor, and program director for survivors of trauma.

Welcome and congratulations on taking your first steps towards healing and growth! I have been working with individuals and families impacted by trauma for 15 years across a variety of environments. I specialize in women’s trauma, and I have a passion for working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

I also provide support for women who are struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues in their recovery. I strive to help build a safe and non-judgmental space for you to cultivate your emotional well-being, develop healthy coping skills, and empower yourself. I am here to provide support and offer guidance on helping you to recover and build a life worth living. I look forward to working with you and being a part of your journey!
