Professional statement

Laura is passionate about helping her clients find a strong sense of love for themselves. She believes that radical self-love can reverse the effects of trauma, depression, or unhealthy habits. Many of Laura’s clients suffer from panic attacks, emotional fatigue, disconnection from the self and others, constant fighting with loved ones, or overwhelming sadness that doesn’t go away. Often, these symptoms are a result of a traumatic event or experience. Laura supports her clients to move past these symptoms and difficult memories.

To each therapy session, Laura brings a mix of techniques and tools that help the client reflect on their emotions and beliefs about the self. Laura encourages clients to practice compassion towards themselves and grow their self-love through self-care and introspection. Laura believes that all clients have innate wisdom and strength and harnesses this power to overcome emotional challenges. She teaches clients how to set boundaries with themselves and loved ones. Laura uses mindfulness practices in therapy to draw attention to the client’s thoughts and feelings, especially the patterns that show up and need slight adjustment. Laura is dedicated to providing trauma-informed experiential therapy services for clients of all backgrounds and identities.

Laura creates a warm, compassionate, encouraging atmosphere in her sessions where clients feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts, ideas, feelings, and dreams. Her goal is that all clients reconnect with themselves on a deep level and unconditionally love who they are at their cores.

Message to clients

You may be concerned that counseling will take away your edge. Know that your drive is honored here. It’s one of your gift and part of your success. But what created that edge may be causing difficulties in your life now.

Working with me, you’ll engage in experiential exercises and somatic practices that connect you even deeper to your inner truths and desires. The majority of the work is bringing out your innate wisdom, though I may supplement with ideas from trauma theories and neural science.

Clients I’ve worked with have shared things like, “I fell back in love with life,” or “I realized how to let other people in.” They’ve said, “Life became fun again and I discovered how to actually love myself.”

Working with me is like finding the right personal trainer but for your heart and mind. While it can be intense at times, you’ll be aware of proper form and technique, that leads to lasting change.

I’ve supported many individuals find deep resilience, vitality, confidence, and peace. I believe this is also possible for you. Please reach out to me and let’s talk
