Professional statement

Marina Braff, M.S., LMFT has a private practice in both the Beach Cities of Los Angeles and in Orange County. Marina has been working with clients for over six years now and has experience in a variety of settings, including schools, community-based mental health and private practice. Currently, Marina specializes in working with adolescent girls and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, life transitions and relational struggles.

In addition to her private practice Marina is an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology and is a nationally sought out speaker, presenting on topics ranging from "Teens and Technology," to "Work-Life Balance," and "Managing Uncertainty." Marina has consulted with local organizations and corporations to ensure that the mental health of students and employees are a priority.

Marina's approach when working with clients can be described as holistic. She is looking to treat the client as a whole and works collaboratively to identify the areas that might need some additional love and attention. In terms of theoretical approaches, Marina pulls from a variety in order to best tailor treatment to her client. Generally speaking, she is most fond of attachment theory, CBT and mindfulness work.

Marina is currently seeing clients in her Redondo Beach office once a week. The remainder of her sessions are virtual for the time being.

Message to clients

I know finding a therapist is hard and ultimately it is impossible to know if you will really connect with someone until you talk to them and are able to get a better feel for who they are and if you really click. Because of that, I offer a complimentary consultation call to discuss what is going in your life and how I can best support you. I will also share information related to scheduling, completing the intake and what the process is like as a whole.

Whether you are new to therapy or just looking for a new therapist I am glad you've gotten yourself this far. I encourage you to take a look around the information here and reach out with any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you and am honored that you are considering me to be a part of your journey.
