Professional statement

Michael Pierce is a therapist who works with individuals, groups, adults, young adults and couples. His therapeutic approach always begins as person-centered.

Depending on the circumstances, he may use a combination of humanistic, mindfulness or solution-focused therapy with clients. For those with trauma or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) he employs EMDR therapy. His primary approach in working with couples is emotionally focused therapy.

As a personal growth facilitator and therapist, Michael has more than 20 years of extensive experience with diverse groups of folks. Those settings include substance-abuse treatment centers, non-profits organizations, community mental health centers and private practice. Before the pandemic, he saw clients at his office on Ocean Park in Santa Monica. Since then Michael has been serving clients by phone or via video conference calls.
