Professional statement

Porsche Martin is the founder of Martin Professional, providing access to trustworthy and professional health care services and promoting integrative health care with attention to meditation/mindfulness, exercise, nutrition, and sleep. Porsche is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. Porsche is passionate about helping adults, couples, and families navigate through ambiguous emotions - often, her clients come into therapy without being able to express how they’re feeling or why they’re feeling a certain way. Porsche works with these clients to find the appropriate labels and determine where the emotional reactions come from. Some of these emotional reactions manifest in depression or anxiety, through which Porsche provides support.

Therapy with Porsche will draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based therapy style that addresses cognitive distortions and patterns in thought, emotion, and behavior. Porsche ensures that all of her clients feel safe and comfortable by maintaining a trauma-informed approach.

Porsche brings the body into each session, asking her clients to complete body scans to find their points of stress or trauma. She does this not only in a mindfulness-based fashion but also using neurobiological approaches to behavior, such as attachment, trauma, or stress. Porsche explores nutrition, diet, exercise, and sleep to make sure that each of clients leads a well-rounded life to promote better mental health.
