Dr. Sarah Church is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder & Executive Director of Wholeview Wellness, an outpatient addiction treatment center in Midtown Manhattan. Dr. Church brings more than two decades of experience treating patients navigating substance and alcohol use disorders and other mental health issues to the practice, which provides evidence based care in a collaborative setting. She also treats a variety of other issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, trauma and chronic pain. Dr. Church supports patients in all stages of recovery and works with each individual to determine treatment goals.
Therapy with Dr. Church is evidence-based and patient-centered. She draws primarily from Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) to help clients increase internal motivation for change, and to develop sustainable coping skills, while fostering the development of a strong social network and finding meaningful activities to engage in. Dr. Church also works closely with psychiatrists and supports medication-assisted treatments when appropriate and encourages patients to engage in group therapy outside of individual sessions.
Dr. Church supports each patient to make decisions that are reflective of their true personal values. She also welcomes family members of those affected by addiction to her practice, helping them to support their loved ones in seeking care. Wholeview Wellness is conveniently located a short walk from Grand Central.
