Sitonja Valenzuela has over 7 years of experience providing clinical mental health services to various ages, genders, ethnic and socio-economic populations. She is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) for the state of North Carolina. She is known as a generalist counselor which simply means she work with a wide-range of diagnoses (social anxiety, depression, social isolation, stress, and relationship issues just to name a few). Specialty areas and doctoral research is centered around body image issues. She is passionate about leadership and advocacy related to diversity and inclusion. More importantly, Sitonja believes her clients have everything "within" them and around them to heal. Inner work is key! Integrated approaches and holistic modalities will be used in session.

Body dysmorphia - Coping with negative beliefs and feelings of shame about one’s appearance; building skills to manage distressing situations and thought patterns

Body image - Development of skills for handling negative thoughts about physical appearance; building habits of more positive self-talk and self-perception.

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
