Stephanie Macadaan is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Los Angeles, CA who works with couples and individuals, both in-office or online. Her experience includes specialized training in couples therapy and trauma, teaching Emotionally Focused Therapy to new counselors, and supervising therapists in training.
Stephanie understands that your inner world sets the stage for all other areas of life – and that the more you know yourself, the more grounded and in control you are of your outside world, including relationships, work success, health, happiness, and general wellbeing. Using psychodynamic theory, she supports individuals dealing with a variety of challenges and works to identify and understand unconscious blocks and how past experiences impact you today. Clients who work with Stephanie will get tools they can start using right away to create a better life, feel more awareness around their emotions and how to express them, gain confidence in creating healthy relationships and have more the "superpower" of self-awareness.
In her work with couples, Stephanie is extensively trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the most researched and effective form of therapy for couples. Almost all couples get caught in a cycle of conflict, whether it's about big things or small things. If this cycle goes on long enough, couples start to feel disconnected. In her work with couples, she helps them identify that cycle and shift it, so that couples are able to communicate well, feel heard, understood, and valued. This process of change creates a more solid foundation for relationships, and increases connection and bonding.
Another part of Stephanie's work with couples is The Happy Couple Plan, an innovative process similar to an "intensive" weekend. She's developed the process to help couples explore their relationship in a different way, using the fundamentals of Emotionally Focused Therapy. Stephanie invites you to reach out and talk more about if this is a fit for you.
