Professional statement

Dr. Posey is a Psychologist located in Austin, TX. Dr. Posey works closely with her clients on finding ways to move forward after conflict or feeling “stuck.” She sees both individuals and couples who would like to find ways to cope with anxiety, depression, or chronic pain. Dr. Posey also supports those who are going through major life transitions by providing a non judgemental space to discuss work, relationships, health, or harmful thought patterns.

Most important in Dr.Posey’s practice is the role of compassion. Her style is compassionate and warm, while encouraging each client to develop their self compassion and build their confidence. Using this confidence, Dr. Posey coaches clients through making changes in their lives - especially making changes towards a healthier, happier life.

Dr. Posey earned her PsyD from Baylor University. She previously worked in the healthcare setting, which makes her an excellent match for any client going through medical issues or transitions in lifestyle due to a medical condition. She supports her clients become aware of their thoughts and feelings, offering them guidance on how to understand, process, and reframe them.

Message to clients

Are you feeling anxious, depressed, lonely or having conflict in your relationships? I am here to help. I believe in treating each patient individually. Some types of clients and problems respond better to some types of interventions than others. Often the presenting problems of anxiety and depression are merely the surface of more long standing difficulties. I work to assess what each patient needs most. While compassionate and nonjudgmental I challenge clients to strive for their best selves. Change can sometimes be difficult but we can navigate it together.
