Navigating my eating disorder

MY EXPERIENCE
While in college, I was under a lot of pressure and I began to develop an eating disorder. I would tend to binge eat and either vomit or feel very guilty and depressed afterwards. I sought professional help from college therapist. At first, it was not as helpful so I began to reach out to local therapist in town. At the same time, I shared my stress with my best friend and my family.

WHAT HELPED ME
Eventually, it turned out the eating disorder was mainly due to peer pressure. I tried very hard to love my body as it is and reminded myself that my body is also an invaluable gift from God. My therapist in town helped me with specific and practical advice. Also, sharing my pain with best friend or family was helpful because they gave me comfort and the feeling of being loved as I am.
