Professional statement

Dr. Susan Park is a psychiatrist in Flatiron, Manhattan who specializes in women’s mental health, including stress, anxiety, depression, and challenges related to pregnancy and postpartum. In addition to thoughtfully addressing each client’s presenting symptoms, she takes special care to examine their holistic wellness, including diet, exercise, sleep, and daily mindfulness. Offering the convenience of both medication management and talk therapy, Dr. Park provides tailored support for her clients to enact positive, long-lasting change.

Dr. Park is board-certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, and this focus on the whole person deeply informs her work. She collaborates closely with clients to provide evidence-based care, and is dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest research, safely balancing the need for psychiatric medication throughout the lifespan, including pregnancy, and supporting gradual tapers when appropriate. She sees medication as a helpful supportive tool alongside other sustainable coping mechanisms, and especially enjoys helping clients build a mindfulness practice to decrease levels of depression and anxiety.

Dr. Park graduated with Phi Beta Kappa from the Johns Hopkins University and received her MD from New York University School of Medicine. She is currently a candidate at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education and works as an Associate Professor of Psychiatric at NYU School of medicine. Dr. Park is excited to welcome new clients in her private practice, conveniently located near the 28th St. Broadway metro station.

Message to clients

I believe in our ability to choose one thought over another to reduce stress and improve overall mental wellness. My goal is to provide compassionate and professional care to reduce stress and improve quality of life. Although I work with both men and women, I specialize in women's mental health and perinatal psychiatry. Through therapy and psychopharmacology, I manage mood and anxiety symptoms occurring around menses, pregnancy, infertility/fertility, and menopause.
