Chris Tickner works in-person in both Pasadena, CA and Sacramento, CA, and also online with folks all over California. He sees individuals, couples and groups, primarily adults, who might be struggling with a wide range of issues, from anxiety to trauma, from depression to low self-esteem, from premarital counseling to surviving an affair.
Most of the issues people struggle with in life stem from our childhood. Any early experience, whether good or bad, will have a huge impact on how we experience life later on. Because our brains develop from the bottom up, and the right to the left, we cannot simply rely on talk therapy to overcome any adverse experience from our childhoods. This is why the fields of psychology and neuroscience have proven the necessity to utilize body-based (somatic) and present-moment (mindfulness) approaches.
Chris has over 25 years of experience, a PhD in Somatic Psychology, and advanced training in various approaches to healing anxiety, trauma and relational issues. He specializes in trauma therapy, couples counseling, and anxiety therapy.
