EMDR is a trauma treatment that helps process distressing memories and restore the brain's natural healing abilities. In addition to other therapeutic techniques, the therapist leads the client in a series of lateral eye movements while focusing on a difficult memory, reducing any overwhelming feelings connected to past experiences, and allowing for emotional healing.

When we’re hurting or just going through a difficult time, so often we feel alone in our experiences. Depression, anxiety and trauma can narrow our perspectives, making us feel viscerally disconnected from our loved ones and ourselves. In those moments, it can be hard to access our own sense of worth. I welcome all of my clients with unconditional acceptance, no matter what they are going through and or how they are feeling. My intention is always to provide a compassionate, welcoming, nonjudgmental space to help clients reconnect with their own inner strength. My practice is founded in the understanding that, as human beings, we are relational creatures, and healing more readily occurs when we have someone to empathize with us and witness us in our pain and growth. I further work with my clients to identify and challenge limiting beliefs, shift their perspectives, and identify practices for their daily lives to help them release anxiety, mitigate depression, and enhance their sense of well-being.

Our emotions are tied to our native language. When starting therapy, it is helpful to have someone who can understand your native language so you can express yourself. I can provide a space where you can switch between both English and Spanish if needed. It is helpful to find someone you are comfortable with that will understand you even when the Spanglish comes out.

I work with people to help them better understand the experiences that have shaped their present difficulties. I want to really know the person seated before me. One of the negative impacts of traumatic stress is that it causes people to develop narrow and limiting views of themselves and the world - causing unnecessary suffering and keeping them from living to their full potential. My role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space in which you feel accepted and empowered to make wise choices that promote your health and happiness. Together, we will identify the past event(s) that may be contributing to the present problem; the present situations that cause distress; and the key skills that are needed to improve overall well-being.

One goal of psychotherapy is to guide you towards understanding and perspectives that will lead to healthy behaviors and improved interactions. Together, we will explore what works best for you. I will always respect your boundaries and your pacing. I will explain every step of the way: what we are doing and ‘the why’ behind how it helps. This respectful and holistic approach ensures my clients feel safe, nurtured and in control. Clients develop greater resiliency and are empowered to overcome adversity. They experience positive changes in their relationship to themselves, an increased sense of self-efficacy, and improved relationships with others.

I specialize in trauma and PTSD, depression and anxiety, and addictions. I'm a real human, and I'll treat you like one, too. You'll probably cry a bit, laugh a bit more, and feel heard and understood along the way. You'll leave therapy more equipped to manage the vortex that life can throw at you.

I am certified in EMDR, a multi-purposeful therapy especially useful in helping people overcome the negative effects of trauma. Also helpful in the management of tough feelings and addictive behaviors, EMDR is one of the most evidence-based therapies counselors have to offer. I also utilize traditional and effective talk therapy.

I believe that effective treatment happens in the context of a strong therapeutic relationship. My initial goal is to build that kind of relationship with you so that you feel safe, respected and supported. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative effort in which we work together to understand your strengths and struggles in order to foster transformation and healing.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey to better mental health.

Welcome to Entwine Therapy. I am Jaxx Alutalica, and I am here to guide you in exploring your innermost self, deepening your relationship to pleasure and desire, and finding your unique expression. It takes courage and commitment to yourself to choose to seek therapy, and I am honored to be invited into that process with you. As humans, we find healing in being witnessed in our pain and our growth, and by having someone to walk along side us as we explore our innermost world, relationships to others, and our awareness of self. Finding someone that can hold space for you while you connect with your vulnerability and honesty in your experience is the first step to beginning.

My approach to therapy is unique in that I blend contemporary evidence based therapeutic approaches with traditional healing techniques, like mindfulness and body awareness, that have been passed through generations of healers. In our sessions, we will balance the mind and the body to create an integrated awareness of who you are and what you need to flourish. I have specialized training in working with issues surrounding sexuality and intimacy as well as sexual trauma and relationship dynamics. In our work together, we will collaborate together to find the path best suited for your journey. I cant wait to meet you, let’s begin!

If you look like you have it together, but secretly feel burnt out, exhausted, or doomed, then hi! It's so frustrating to feel like you have it together one minute and are falling apart the next. You don't have to feel this way forever. I can help.

My clients want to cope better, drink less, or shift unhelpful or unhealthy lifestyle habits that are keeping them stuck and feeling like crap. If you need a big dose of self-care, self-acceptance, or self-compassion, let's do this.

Finding a therapist can be weird. I've been told by new clients that they feel comfortable with me pretty quickly. I’m down-to-earth, believe in the healing and connective power of humor, and won’t shy away from a cuss word or two.

You deserve a space where you matter most. You can always expect to be treated with compassion and respect, and I will always be in your corner.

I have over 12 years experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships. I believe everyone already has the wisdom inside to heal but sometimes layers of trauma or pain can make it difficult to do so resulting often in uncomfortable symptoms such as anxiety and depression. I work with you on processing traumas that can block the feeling of safety, content and happiness inside. I am trained in EMDR (an evidence based trauma therapy tool) that is used to process and heal traumas so that the system can rest and no longer have to fight to protect against the pain and fear and emotions.
I am also a licensed addiction counselor and work with people to find the roots of their addictions and other ways to cope and find addiction often stems from unhealed traumas. I prefer working with people in recovery once they have achieved sobriety and are ready to work on the root causes of addiction. I work with both and adults and teens 14+.
I am here to help support you through this process of healing by creating a safe warm relationship so you feel comfortable in therapy and feel safe enough to heal. I use the combination of a holistic/mindfulness approach encompassing the mind/body/spirit and also an evidence based- scientific approach to healing in order to get the best results possible.
