Motherhood is a transformational experience. We need connection and support while we navigate this new terrain to feel validated and to learn new tools for dealing with the parts of the journey that test us most. Becoming a parent has a tremendous impact on our identity and very concept of selfhood. It has great potential to reshape our understanding of ourselves and help us heal. I feel passionate about helping parents of all kinds to navigate pregnancy and the post-birth journey. Sharing our stories breaks the stigma around the psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual strains of parenting.

I’m passionate about navigating pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and the postpartum journey, and helping all parents develop healthy attachment with their children. I especially like to work with women in the transitional spaces, addressing identity shifts, ideas of mothering, wellness issues, and challenges. I work with parents who have experienced loss and NICU.

As a mother and stepmother, I understand just how much support parents need. I'm here to encourage honest conversations about the joys and difficult realities of parenting. To deepen the work in individual therapy, I also offer a pregnancy and postpartum therapy group.

As a naturalized American citizen of Iranian origin, I have a deep understanding of cross-cultural relationships and raising children with an emphasis on bicultural awareness. Identity is an important part of my work, and I welcome bicultural folxs from all life stages.

Before realizing that I myself was a millennial, I loved them! I thought I was perhaps born too soon because I identified with millennials yet wasn't chronologically part of that generation. Recently, I found out that I am a millennial, and it all makes so much more sense! Despite being often misunderstood, as long as we tap into our true beautiful selves, millennials are so powerful, and I feel honored and excited to be part of this collective enlightenment in our history.

I am grateful for my life, which I believe I have chosen. I am eager to share with you much of what I have remembered along this life journey as long as our conversations flow and resonate. I believe we are all interconnected and mirror each other in many ways; ironically, our paths are figuratively parallel if they cross. We inevitably grow as we follow our most fun. Our emotions and everything around us are feedback since realizing what we don't like helps us discover what we like, love, and want. One thought at a time, enjoy dancing to the beat of your inner being, higher power, or higher self.

We are living in complex and important times. There is so much uncertainty about the future and sometimes it feels like our unfinished business is now standing up and staring us in the face. Making the decision to come to therapy is such a profoundly life altering choice, it is the most important investment in yourself that you can make.

I view my role as a guide to help you access the hidden parts of yourself that lead to you changing your life. By choosing to come to therapy, you choose to reshape your whole mind, your world view, and your future. It is a deep honor to do healing work at this time in our history. The journey we undertake together as therapist and client is one of the most sacred that exists.

Despite all of our best intentions, love is not enough to sustain a long term relationship. It can be especially difficult for people who grew up in families where healthy relationships either never existed or were in short supply. When you get caught in the frustration of perpetual problems and gridlock, it can be profoundly helpful to bring in a guide that can offer you not only a new perspective, but someone who can illuminate the unconscious patterns at a play—and set a clear path forward.

My mission is to give you mindfulness-based, practical tools, and tangible insights for repairing and re-building resilient relationships. Often times we can mistake the authenticity of a difficult emotional experience as an objective truth about ourselves or our relationships. Mindful awareness and compassion can help us learn how to be in conversation with those emotions. It can also give us the space to become curious about what habitual stories we are telling ourselves over and over again.

My approach helps clients to identify and uproot deeply entrenched negative patterns that shape how they see themselves and the world --and empowers them to redeem both their relationships and life stories. My integrative approach is also grounded in my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method for Couples alongside mindfulness-based techniques to promote insight, resilience, and well being.

When you’re in crisis with a problem that needs immediate attention, the thought of spending many sessions getting to know your therapist can feel daunting and frustrating. While it’s absolutely critical to building trust with a compassionate and collaborative therapist, it’s also important to get to the root of the problem, put it into a new framework, and identify practical tools to help you move forward and heal.

You're probably feeling a little overwhelmed and frustrated about looking for a therapist. You're wondering if I'm the right therapist for you and if I have experience working with people like you. It may be helpful for you to know that I’ve worked with many different kinds of people of all ages, diverse backgrounds and experiences, and I have experience effectively treating many different kinds of mental health issues.

You might be struggling with relationships (including friendships, romance, sex, kink, etc.), feeling lonely or isolated, have trouble figuring out life goals or staying motivated, or you might have experienced trauma and are trying to heal. These kinds of practical problems often get diagnosed as depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), ADD or ADHD, or a personality disorder. My approach to mental health is to get to know you well and develop an understanding of your specific experiences and history. Your treatment will be unique to *you*!

Whatever your reason for reaching out, we'll talk about it without the pressure or limitations of a label and without judgement. We will take our time and discover the best ways for us to work together.

I know how overwhelmed you are as you watch the world change around you. Things seem different and scary and you're not sure how to handle it, let alone who you need to be. Being a parent, a professional, a friend, or a partner is never as simple as people make it out to be, but I know that you have it in you to discover your true self. You don't have to go through any of this on your own.

It's not easy to open up about your innermost thoughts and fears, especially to the people around you who are counting on you to be this infallible force of strength. You can't possibly be everything to everyone, and our work together will be about you being YOU.

We will create the space for you to share, to be honest, to be open, to cry, to laugh, and to dig deep as we find your true happiness. Feeling happy and successful can be challenging when society paints them as one picture, your family expects another, and you have been living up to your own set of impossible expectations. Don't worry, we'll help you find your own definitions of happiness and success. And most importantly, we'll help you get there!

It takes courage to ask for help. My goal is to help you go from feeling stuck in some area of your life, to achieving your own definition of success. It is time to close the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be in the future.

Life is not easy no matter who you are. We all have our own individual struggles, our own stories, moments of celebration among moments of sadness. I look forward to hearing your story and getting to know you.

We all need to be seen, and heard, at any age. Being scared, anxious, or even depressed are sometimes part of being a person. Our fast-paced digital world can present unique challenges for our bodies and minds. I am happy to meet you wherever you are, and will approach each visit with a sense of compassionate curiosity. Just as we hunger for stories of other people to help guide us, you may wonder about your own story. Why are you here? What must you do with your life?

I work with adolescents (12+) through older, retired adults and specialize in issues of transition, anxiety, adjustment, depression, and vocation. I am not the expert in your life; you are. But sometimes we need help with perspective. Together, we will create a plan that will help you reduce the most difficult aspects of your life and help you determine how to move through them. What cannot be changed can be reviewed, understood, and ultimately, accepted.
