Motherhood is a transformational experience. We need connection and support while we navigate this new terrain to feel validated and to learn new tools for dealing with the parts of the journey that test us most. Becoming a parent has a tremendous impact on our identity and very concept of selfhood. It has great potential to reshape our understanding of ourselves and help us heal. I feel passionate about helping parents of all kinds to navigate pregnancy and the post-birth journey. Sharing our stories breaks the stigma around the psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual strains of parenting.
I’m passionate about navigating pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and the postpartum journey, and helping all parents develop healthy attachment with their children. I especially like to work with women in the transitional spaces, addressing identity shifts, ideas of mothering, wellness issues, and challenges. I work with parents who have experienced loss and NICU.
As a mother and stepmother, I understand just how much support parents need. I'm here to encourage honest conversations about the joys and difficult realities of parenting. To deepen the work in individual therapy, I also offer a pregnancy and postpartum therapy group.
As a naturalized American citizen of Iranian origin, I have a deep understanding of cross-cultural relationships and raising children with an emphasis on bicultural awareness. Identity is an important part of my work, and I welcome bicultural folxs from all life stages.
