Seeking therapy for sexuality issues is difficult and can feel overwhelming, or even embarrassing. I became a sex therapist because I love to help people overcome feelings of shame or uncertainty related to sexuality. You may not be here seeking sex therapy, and that’s okay too. I offer therapy to individuals who have experienced trauma and are seeking relief from symptoms or want support for everyday stress.

I use a client-centered, healing focused approach, with a social justice lens to offer a supportive space for you to explore whatever you wish. After nearly a decade of working in public service as a Social Worker, I am deeply aware of how social justice issues impact mental health. Individual identity is critical to overall wellness and I welcome you exactly as you are.

I believe in the power of connection and that as people, we need positive and healthy systems to be a part of however that may look. One of my talents is building that positive connection with my clients and helping them feel comfortable in the process of being vulnerable with me and those closest in their lives in order to achieve healthy and long-lasting connections.

I specialize in relationship therapy and help individuals and couples work to improve their communication, engage in conflict effectively, build connection, and incorporate fun and play into their lives and relationships. I also help people regain and maintain balance in their lives so they can be the best version of themselves. I have training and experience working with folks in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as folks with diverse racial and cultural identities.

I believe that we are all born whole, with inherent abilities to heal and move towards our highest potential. However, in a society fraught with trauma, loss, abuse, rejection, inequality and unrelenting pressures, it's unsurprising that many of us start to view life as void of meaning, purpose, connection and joy. My role as a psychologist is to help you reconnect with your innate healing abilities by giving compassionate attention to the parts of yourself that might have become fragmented or blocked. When doing this work within a safe, supportive relationship, wholeness becomes inevitable.

I view therapy as a deeply relational process, where we each enter as equal partners with our own expertise: mine in evidence-based therapy, and yours in your unique lived experience. When we combine these perspectives in a safe, affirming context, the therapy process can become a catalyst for healing and transformation. Inner peace and joy are possible, no matter what circumstance you might find yourself in. Welcome! I am both a Clinical and Health Psychologist, meaning I have expertise in treating clients with psychological and emotional struggles as well as clients with medical conditions impacting their daily lives.

When clients seek my help, they are often grappling with irritability, sadness, underlying anxiety, or anger and find it’s impacting their well being. Some clients have suffered a trauma or frightening experience for which they are struggling to make sense of. Others, are experiencing difficulty with a life change such as ending a relationship, becoming a parent or navigating life after school. I feel that finding the right therapist for you is key for your wellness journey. I strive to meet my clients where they at and help create the wellness journey that best fits their needs. As an eclectic therapist with strong roots in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) it is important to me that we create wellness goals for you to track your progress as well as leave you a safe space to process anything that might be on your mind.

Many new clients ask how they sessions are conducted and too often I hear clients say that they have been in therapy where the first four sessions were their "intake sessions". I spend the first session exploring more about yourself and your goals for therapy and then by the second session we hit the ground running. It is my goal that my clients learn new tools and are able to process their needs as soon as possible in order to find alleviation of some of the symptoms that prompted them to engage in therapy. Whether its a desire to sleep better, cope with anxiety symptoms, or finding new ways to set their intentions; these are all tools that can be explored while also working on larger goals you have set.

Remember that taking the first step is the hardest step. I'm looking forward to working with you and remember that there is no reason to walk on this journey alone.

My practice uses many techniques to support folks who have had challenging life experiences.
