I offer a space to be heard, seen, and safe within therapeutic boundaries. This is a space of freedom to be who you are, as you are now, and feel held in order to explore the depths and possibilities within you. Within this space, talking is only one of the many forms of communication and expression. I am currently accepting new clients through video-based services and am willing to offer a sliding fee scale for students or adults in need.

Imagine the change you want to realize. This is a solution focused approach that keeps the focus on your goals.

In 40 years of broad experience as a psychotherapist, I have had the privilege of treating individuals, couples and families from age 3 to 80 plus, for a great variety of problems.

My professional foundation is cognitive behavioral therapy; that is working with the connection between actions, thoughts and emotions, changing problematic behaviors and thoughts to reduce emotional distress. I integrate body-mind techniques such as relaxation training, breathwork and meditation into traditional psychotherapy. I can help you to develop healthy coping skills to deal with past trauma and current stress.

Although most clients are interested in a brief course of treatment that has immediate results, I also have expertise in helping people manage challenging conditions such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression through coaching and long-term support.

I am delighted to facilitate the use of your own strengths and inner wisdom to reach your goals.

For me, becoming a therapist required a commitment to my own growth and healing. This, I think, is the most important thing to know about me. Through the process you are about to engage in, I found work that engages me and allows me to feel more myself. Whether you struggle with existential angst, relational tension, depression, anxiety or the trials of life transition, I will collaborate with you to figure out the best way through... for YOU. Training in the theory and practice of social work, psychoanalysis and yoga inform my approach with individuals and couples.
As a social worker I believe family, organizational and community systems contribute to and inhibit wellbeing. As a psychodynamic clinician I believe your psyche is complicated. At times we take action based on what we believe is solid reasoning. Later, we may discover hidden motivations.
Finally, as a trained Kripalu Yoga instructor I believe in the value of presence. No matter what stressors exist - external or internal - if we can find our feet, find our breath, often, we can figure out how to move forward. I look forward to hearing from you.

I consult and work with individuals and couples who are wanting to make changes in their lives. I understand how change works – it takes time, commitment, and uncomfortable conversations to lean towards that which one hopes for, values, and wants to commit to. My style is direct; therapy with me isn’t going to always be comfortable. And yet, it will be less uncomfortable than what led you to start therapy.

I pull from a narrative approach. This lens acknowledges each of us has innate resources, but these strengths may, at times, be discounted or overlooked in favor of dominant story lines that have taken precedent. I support individuals in facilitating conversations that help them see themselves as separate from the problems and obstacles they are up against, giving space for different narratives and possibilities. In other words, I am here to listen about what got you here and support you in going where you want to go.

I like to say that my job is to work myself out of job. Clients who seek out working with me are ones who, again, have a part of them who are looking to make changes and experience life differently in some way, to get to know themselves differently in some type of way, in the midst of being uncertain with what that looks like.
