What services does your practice offer?

ME Psychotherapy is a group practice with offices in Narragansett and Providence, RI. All ME Psychotherapy providers also offer telehealth sessions. Our services include individual, couples, and family therapy sessions. We also offer professional supervision services and emotional support animal letter consultations.

What are your practice's specialties?

Our group's primary speciality is maternal mental health. Three of our providers have expertise in this area. Our group has a variety of qualified providers who also specialize in anxiety, grief, trauma, college/graduate student mental health, perfectionism/overachieving, eating disorders, LGBTQI concerns, behavioral issues in children, adolescent mental health, and parenting issues.

Why should I choose your practice?

ME Psychotherapy has two locations in Rhode Island along with a robust telehealth program. Our providers have a wide range of specialties, making our group easily accessible for a variety of client needs. We are open 7 days a week, offering evening and weekend hours. We have a dedicated office manager to assist with new client intake and insurance questions.

How does payment work at your practice?

At ME Psychotherapy, most of our providers are in network with Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, and Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island. We have a sliding fee range for clients with documented financial need. We provide insurance eligibility screening and claim submission on the client's behalf.


Specialties

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

College/graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression

Perfectionism/overachieving - Coping with feelings of anxiety, stress, self-criticism, and procrastination; addressing unrealistic expectations of one’s self and negatively comparing self to others

Stress management/coping skill development - Strengthening effective ways of coping with the stress of life and change; managing expectations of self and others

Parenting support - Helping parents develop and implement strategies to address challenges that arise throughout childrearing; managing stress and increasing support

Maternal mental health - Addressing issues specific to women and families during the pregnancy and postpartum period, including postpartum depression and anxiety

Melissa Lavender is an intern and does not accept insurance, but offers a low sliding fee scale of $50-$65.
