Practice Information

Marlo Powell is a Certified School Psychologist, and Pre-Licensed Therapist in Philadelphia. Marlo works with Adults of all ages. Many of Marlo’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and grief. She also has advanced training in the area of Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Autism, and PTSD.

Marlo is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but prefers to use a multi-modal/holistic approach to treatment along with mindfulness. She considers each person as an individual and creates an individualized plan that is best suited for the client based on their unique personality, preferences, goals and needs. In session, Marlo utilizes a variety of tools, including but not limited to, breathing exercises, grounding tools, "tapping," and literature, providing clients with practical resources and strategies they can use in everyday life. This approach empowers the individual when they are faced with challenges outside of the therapeutic setting so that they are able to make clear, intentional decisions for their lives, learning specific strategies and tools that they will be able to take with them and use independently and beyond the counseling relationship.

Marlo's style is warm, empathic, non-judgmental, engaging and goal-oriented. When clients first start therapy, she will establish a strong therapeutic relationship, fostering a comfortable environment where the client will feel safe and heard.

Marlo is a Pre-licensed Therapist, certified School Psychologist and received her Masters of Science from Eastern University. She has worked with children and families in the School District of Philadelphia for 20 years. Outside of private practice, she enjoys making candles, meditation, and reading books on self-help and metaphysics. If you have any questions during non-office hours, please feel free to call and leave a message. All inquiries will be addressed within 48 hours.
