Professional statement

Alison works with adults in all of life’s transitions. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC). Alison’s training includes a strong emphasis on family systems, and Art Therapy. She holds a strong belief that keys to unlocking important parts of therapy are truly individual to the person, since everyone’s experiences are unique to themselves.

Alison works from primarily a person-centered and relational approach, which means building trust, and understanding her client’s experience in the world, how they exist and navigate in their relationships and what they are looking for are at the core of the work.

Alison specializes in adults working through life transitions, women’s issues, adults who were adopted as children, relationship/family issues, grief/loss, anxiety, trauma and depression. Alison has over 10 years of experience in the field.

She identifies as an adoptee herself, which allows for a unique level of depth and understanding for adoptee clients.

Alison offers a free 15 minute phone consultation to see she is the right fit for you.

Message to clients

Just beginning your search shows you have the courage to take that next step towards meaningful change. You are wanting something better for yourself.

“I deserve this," "Why am I like this?" "I don't feel like I belong." “I’ll never be good enough,” "I will never get through this".

These messages isolate us, and can make us feel hopeless about making changes. You may feel like you have to handle this alone. You don't, and you are not alone.

No one is meant to do this work alone. I am honored to be a part of your journey.

I believe that for most of us, it takes support from another person to work through, heal, grow, and accept challenges life has given us.

Everyone has a voice that deserves to be heard, understood, and the chance to lead a happy, healthy, fulfilling life. Together we will look at what has hindered you to find what you are looking for. This looks a little different for everyone.

Increased understanding to your own experiences, thoughts and feelings leads us to a path that will identify your individualized patterns, relationships and areas of growth.
