Allison Ciongoli been drawn to understanding people. From a young age she found herself curious about why we think the way we think, why we show up the way we do in relationships, and what it actually takes to feel fulfilled. That curiosity never went away. It led her to study Psychology and Communications at UC Santa Barbara, and eventually into a career built entirely around helping people understand themselves more deeply.
After graduation and a few formative years in New York, she came back to California and earned her Master's in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Her trainings provided a diverse work experience to broaden her clinical skills. From an inpatient psychiatric unit and a residential treatment facility for substance use to multiple group practices across West LA and the South Bay. Each experience taught her that healing is rarely linear and that people are more resilient than they know. They also taught her that sometimes the most powerful thing a therapist can do is simply stay present and hold space without judgement.
Private practice is where she found my home. There is something she deeply values about working with someone over time, building real trust, and getting to witness the slow, steady transformation that only happens when someone finally feels safe enough to be honest with themselves. That is the work she is here for. She takes a humanistic, trauma-informed approach that treats you as a whole person, not a diagnosis. Using EMDR, somatic work, and evidence-based therapy, she will go beyond talking about your problems to actually shifting them. Virtual sessions available across California.
