Professional statement

Alyssa Brouse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for all things mental health. Alyssa's clients are folks who are looking for validation, non-judgmental guidance, and authenticity as they navigate all of the ups and downs that come with life. Alyssa takes a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, meeting clients where they are at and helping them manage things like healing from trauma, values-focused goal setting, parenting stress, and beyond.

In addition to honing in on validation and authenticity, Alyssa brings in tools from a variety of different modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and more. Alyssa loves tailoring each therapy experience to an individual's unique needs. A lot of the work done in the therapy room includes illuminating and processing difficult feelings, problem solving, emotion regulation strategies, and values exploration.

Alyssa is committed to providing therapy that is comfortable, safe and genuine. Sessions are currently held via telehealth in the state of Pennsylvania.

Message to clients

It can be immensely difficult navigating the journey of getting therapy. It takes a lot of courage and commitment to your personal growth to take that step, and I'm so happy that you've chosen to do this special thing for yourself. Therapy can bring up difficult feelings at times, but all feelings are essential parts of our human experience, and growth often comes with some discomfort. I'm here to sit with you in the dark when things are hard, and to celebrate with you when there is relief. Know that in the therapy room, you will be guiding the sessions. Although I may ask questions and provide prompts, we will not discuss anything that you're not ready to discuss, and we will focus on working on goals that are set by you.
