Blue Stoehr is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Burbank, CA with nearly 20 years of experience in mental health. She welcomes individuals, couples, and families into her sessions, and specializes in helping clients with anxiety and depression. Many of her clients feel that their emotions hold them back from fully enjoying life, whether those emotions are fear, stress, shame, or guilt. They hope that therapy can help them overcome these difficult emotions and grow their relationships with other people.
Blue’s approach to therapy draws from a thoughts-based therapy called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Through CBT, clients learn how to reduce the occurrence of cognitive distortions, which can lead to low self-worth or harmful coping strategies. She also practices psychodynamic therapy, encouraging clients to deepen their understanding of themselves and their inner beliefs, goals, needs, and instincts. From this understanding, clients can determine what changes need to happen in their lives for greater emotional comfort.
Blue earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She strives to make everyone feel comfortable while in session, creating a space that is curious and safe for self-growth.
