Professional statement

Cathleen (Cathy) Yann is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a private practice, Seeking Solutions Counseling, in Zephyrhills, Florida. She offers telehealth sessions throughout the state of Florida as well as serves clients in the East Pasco County area with in-person appointments if preferred. Cathy’s clients are both women and men who range in age from 16 years old to older adult age and have a wide range of mental health concerns. Cathy is especially passionate about working with young adults who are in times of life transition and can assist with issues of motivation, anxiety, panic, depression, self-learning, and relationship conflict. For those clients whom it is appropriate, Cathy welcomes integrating counseling interventions with a Christian-based lens, but counsels a diverse population and clients of all faiths from a place of respect.

Cathy uses an integrated, strength-based therapeutic approach to assist her clients in developing self-awareness, heal from trauma, manage anxiety and depression, work through fears, improve relationships, and she works toward collaboratively setting goals to increase personal fulfillment. Therapeutic interventions she often draws from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. Working with individuals who have experienced trauma led her to becoming trained and certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Utilizing ART can alleviate the emotional pain associated not only with trauma but other mental health issues as well in a relatively short amount of time.

While Cathy’s undergraduate degree was obtained in Business Administration from Malone University, Ohio, her life’s journey led her to obtaining her Master of Clinical Social Work Degree at Saint Leo University, Florida in 2016. She has worked in areas of mental health crisis, College/University Campuses, domestic and sexual assault services, and private practice.

Message to clients

All seasons of transition in life can have their ups and downs, but the moments spent prioritizing and pursuing healthy balance in your life can be some of the most rewarding and challenging all at the same time! I hope you will find your counseling experience, whether in-office, or through a video platform, is a place where you can unpack your heavy load for a bit while increasing self-discovery and healthy patterns which can serve you your whole life. The therapeutic relationship is critical to a purposeful counseling session. We are all on this life-journey together and I have found, through personal experience as well as listening to many clients, at times we are feeling our best selves and at times we are struggling.

Sometimes taking that first step towards a healthier self is the hardest. I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation to get to know each other a bit and allow you to become more comfortable while getting any questions you have answered. Utilizing a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental, and straight-forward approach, I will partner with you on your journey towards healing and health. I am sincerely looking forward to speaking with you!
