Professional statement

CJ Seitz-Brown is a clinical psychologist who provides therapy for individuals and couples in Maryland and Pennsylvania through telehealth video sessions. He specializes in supporting clients with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, addiction, and identity exploration/development. Most of his experience has been in settings working with clients of color and/or LGBTQIA+ clients. Young professionals looking for balance between work, their passions, and their values often come to his practice for help to better advocate for their goals and to explore new directions in their lives.

When working with new clients, CJ likes to learn as much as he can about their backgrounds and goals, to collaborate on strategies to address clients' initial concerns. After building a strong connection, longer-term work uses a multicultural approach to have open conversations about when clients' previous life experiences and identities are--or are not--relevant to what they bring to therapy. The space to go deep and talk about vulnerable topics without judgment is something everyone deserves, and that's what you can expect in therapy with him.

As a faculty member at the University of Maryland, College Park, CJ supervises graduate students who are learning to become therapists. Through this experience, he has learned what works and doesn't work for different clients, and can help people who are new to therapy (or have had bad experiences in the past) to figure out the best approaches for them.

Message to clients

I have helped students, friends, and other people I care about to look for mental health care, and I've seen how difficult it is to find a therapist. That's what drew me to the Zencare platform: a way to help reduce those barriers. If you're ready to be done with with your search, we should talk. After you contact me, I will get back to you within 24 hours, and I can schedule new clients within one week. If working with me sounds like it might be a good fit for you, please reach out to set up a free consultation phone call whenever you are ready.
