Cynthia Valentine is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in San Diego, CA. She is passionate about engaging with young adults and adults who struggle with ADHD. Many of Cynthia’s clients struggle with feelings of shame, self-doubt, or anxiety because of their neurodivergence. They may find themselves overwhelmed by stress or burnt out from their daily routines, or experience challenges during periods of change. Cynthia, who is neurodivergent herself, offers empathetic and supportive sessions to help her clients establish a comfortable, joyful way of living.
When working with a new client, Cynthia builds trust with that person and encourages them to explore how their neurodivergence or mental health hinders their ability to live the life that they want for themselves. She teaches clients mindfulness techniques that can be helpful for them to ground themselves or to pay closer attention to how they feel both physically and emotionally. She also practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which can help clients examine the patterns in their lives and establish new patterns that align to what’s important to them, such as their values.
Cynthia earned a Master’s degree from National University. She has over 10 years of experience as a therapist and provides clients with skills that are effective in their daily lives. She enjoys tailoring each session to the needs of her client, and is a kind and caring therapist.
