Professional statement

David is a Licensed Professional Counselor, based in Hamden, CT. He has expertise working with young adults who are struggling to find direction in their lives. He has a personal interest in mindfulness meditation, has completed several silent meditation retreats throughout the country, and is a Level One Certified Teacher in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through the Brown University Center for Mindfulness.

During his graduate studies at the University of Denver, David conducted research examining identity formation in competitive video game players, and continues to find fulfillment in working with clients to examine and develop healthier relationships with technology.

David looks to bring flexibility, presence, authenticity, and compassion to everything that he does, and to help those he works with reconnect to their own unique potentialities to live value-driven lives.

David has a diverse array of interests, and in his free time enjoys reading, running, cooking, hiking with his two dogs, and spending time with his family.

Message to clients

The focus of my work is simple: helping you to increase the happiness and fulfillment you experience in your life. How exactly we do that is something I hope to explore and identify together. I know first hand that deciding to make a lasting change in your life takes real strength and courage. I also know that the fruits of that labor are almost always well worth it. Through a collaborative approach, I work to help you take back control of your life, and to close the gap between the person you want to be and the person you are today.

I specialize in working with young adults and adolescents who are experiencing difficult periods of transition. Whether you are experiencing stress, anxiety, anger, depression, uncertainty about the present or future, or just have a sense that things could be better, I look forward to learning about what is causing you to seek help, and offering you the tools to live life on your terms.
