Professional statement

Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with individuals in the field of social work for over 35 years. As a psychotherapist specializing in anxiety, depression, stress, and grief she ascribes to an eclectic approach with a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Elizabeth uses a client-centered, goal focused approach to assure the client is addressing the challenges that brought them to therapy and helps them understand and implement the necessary changes to live a healthy and productive life.

A calming and relaxing environment is a goal for sessions. Guided imagery and relaxation techniques are often demonstrated in sessions to assure understanding of effective coping techniques.

Elizabeth received a Bachelor in Social Work in 1986, a Master in Social Work in 1992, and a Doctorate in Social Work in 2022. Elizabeth primarily worked in medical social work throughout her career. In 2015 she started individual psychotherapy. In 2020 remoter therapy became the preferred method due to COVID-19 and she has been working as a telehealth therapist since that time.

The first session is spent completing a comprehensive psycho-social assessment where information is gathered on emotional health and areas that impact emotional health such as medical challenges and life transitions. Long and short term goals are developed in the first two sessions and are the road map for client success.

When Elizabeth is not working she enjoys time with her husband and three children at the beach or in the mountains. She enjoys a variety of activities including reading, gardening, and crafting.
